Brush of Stories
The paint fades away
Leaving slight streaks of
Washed out colors behind
A paintbrush old and used
Has seen better days
Art hangs from the cracked
Walls in wooden frames
Like a crooked smile
How many times has that
Brush been dipped
If it could talk the stories
It would tell are sure to
Be colorful ones
Leaving slight streaks of
Washed out colors behind
A paintbrush old and used
Has seen better days
Art hangs from the cracked
Walls in wooden frames
Like a crooked smile
How many times has that
Brush been dipped
If it could talk the stories
It would tell are sure to
Be colorful ones

This is very interesting sound work....
The art hangs
from cracked Walls
in wooden frames
Like crooked smiles
now an "s" ends every line
This piece is one experiment after another...a tonality bonanza....
3-2-3-2-3 great refective graphics...
I'm just really liking this piece...

You paint so well with both words and the brush. I am sure the brush misses your loving grasp.

This is awesome - such a cool visual. You've built a story around a simple brush and given it a character of its own. Really a great poem!

Great write Tommie, I enjoyed it. Could picture a room with spilled paint and art on the table. You painted this well with words.

do you see what you've written? that brush is metaphor for every man & woman who labored over a long & unheralded life, & never had the opportunity to tell their stories. (f*ck, you made me cry!)...
