Undercover

I knew what department I needed
The quickest route
Even an excuse played out in my head
though for the life of me why would my husband
be in that department in this shop and look
disapprovingly at my choice garment or colour
and instantly put 2 and 2 together  ahh You know
the rest.

I felt fifteen again as if I shouldn't be looking
for grown ups only
looking up and down the aisle

expecting security to pounce and drag me protesting
out of the shop, Where my husband just so happened
to be passing on his lunch break as the incriminating
garments would fall at his feet..

"Yes sir, found her with that garment on her person"

"would they be intended for you sir"?

"Are they your choice of colour"?

You get my drift..

Colours, So many choices
I knew the colour, You had told me
The type you left up to me.

Didn't take me long to find
taking them with trembling hands up to the counter.

She didn't, but..

"Does your husband know"?

As she peered over rimmed glasses.

"well"?

"SECURITY"!!

I scurried away with my package
hurried home, locking the door behind me.
Three hours before he comes home, hmm

Too aroused for my own good

I stripped in the hallway
Slipping on slowly your gift to me
or was it my gift to you?
Oh hell never mind now, no time

Rushing to the chair before falling from
shaking legs.

My fingers delved under as I opened wide
before the dusty mantelpiece and half drunk
coffee cup.

I'm ashamed to say I experienced more joy that
afternoon than I should have ever been blessed
to receive.

You made my afternoon

xx
