To Dream in Blue

I dreamt in blue
And awoke to colors-too-many
As when the simplicity of the beginning of a favorite song
Is interrupted by the body
Lost is the meandering beauty of that world
Outlined in indigo and navy
A pulsating moment painted wintery hues
Imaginary scenes with no future or history
A footnote without a story
And i wonder where it goes when it's done with me
And how is this life any different?
When i open my eyes
Gone are my dreams of chivalry
But what of when i close my eyes on this waking world?
When I close my eyes for the final time
Wont this world shut its eyes on me?
Wont i take with me the two worlds all the same
Into that third world of mystery?
So i dream
I dream in blue
It's easier that way
And i try to make the blue as real as possible
Because
In the end
Isn't it all the same anyway?
