chicara no oyo

I woke up on the promontory
that was already daylight.
I walked into the night,
following the ghost of Maite
up to a forest of Juniperus.
The country was far below,

I could see the tiny houses;
as I had been able to ascend
the steep trail in the dark,
was a mystery.
I remembered in flashes
of being helped by the wind.
The wind saved me again
and gave me the strength
I thought I had lost.

"Few manifestations of energy on earth
are as powerful as the wind. "
Said Maite, indicating the Juniperus trees
grown folds back on themselves
under the pressure of the trade winds.
"We can not win a power greater than us,
just go along and take advantage of its strength.

On the glossy cortex shone through
the torment of growing up in adverse circumstances,
a bas-relief molded by wind and time,
of twisted forms, such as reptiles which screw,
dilate, deflate and then inflate again.
The trees were stubbornly ascended into the sky,
and finally succumbed,
the foliage had bowed to the strongest,
making an arch, touching the ground.
the plants were prodigious
and attractive in their anomaly,
of ancient beings and strong
that wisdom made invincible.

I do not know how many time I spent
between Juniperus,
standing with eyes closed,
arms outstretched and body naked,
facing the horizon
to receive the massage of winds.
I felt really flowing energy,
it was like one of those dreams
from which no one would have wanted to awaken,
in which it glides like Albatros
calmly and at length, without beating wing.

The bleating and peals brought me back to earth.
I opened my eyes and there was a shepherd
leaning with both hands on the stick
which faced the sea.
I did not know how long he was there
with his goats.
He gave me his eyes,
tilting his head slightly and saluted.
"Vaya borachera. drunk, huh?"
He said, smiling, winking.
I nodded.
"To die for, compadre, to die for."
