Something to Forget

Upon the ground you were found
Upon the stones you were home
A lighthouse to guide the way
A lighthouse to guide me astray

A tyrant to my heart, I welcomed you with open arms
I sat you down, “I drown without your life tonight”
You took my hand, “I understand, but let me go”
I knew nothing, A child with something to forget

I still cherish every picture you took, You look so innocent
I still cherish every word I took, I shook so violently
That night you ran away, You said nothing, Only fled
You were all I had, You’re all the same, You left me dead

A zombie haunts my footsteps, A ghost distorted in place
I track your footsteps but still you disappeared without a trace
Every memory fades and I have slowly forgotten your face
But never the tears you shed, Never the prayers you endlessly said
Those are mine till my dying day, My epitaph and my devotion
