winter solstice
reeking cold; hardening all life
all the trees, joyless and condensed
in a state of indifference
cold, dark emptiness swells
whilst whistles of winds in the wilderness
seeds of fear growing in my mind
caught in the undertone // the overtone
each an antithesis, an antipode
faltering and feeble.
