The Fight
There is no today
And nothing can take the pain away
All around dead bodies lay
Never to find their way
It was a mistake
Thinking they were fake
As the light fades away
We fail to keep them at bay
The night closes in
And the nightmares begin
We refuse to believe
That this fight, we cannot win
Our souls will be slain
To fight this would be insane
They will never back down
In their influence we will drown
We will never win the fight
We will fail to keep the light
For our enemies are not what they seem
On our fears they will feed
We can never escape their grasp
Stuck to our souls like a clasp
They are our demons, our darkest desires
The ones who light our fires
In our hearts and minds they reside
Tired of being locked inside
A taste of freedom they desire
But the consequences may be dire
Fight them all we please
But one day they will get the best of us
One day they will get the freedom they so desire
And we'll be the ones putting out the fire
And nothing can take the pain away
All around dead bodies lay
Never to find their way
It was a mistake
Thinking they were fake
As the light fades away
We fail to keep them at bay
The night closes in
And the nightmares begin
We refuse to believe
That this fight, we cannot win
Our souls will be slain
To fight this would be insane
They will never back down
In their influence we will drown
We will never win the fight
We will fail to keep the light
For our enemies are not what they seem
On our fears they will feed
We can never escape their grasp
Stuck to our souls like a clasp
They are our demons, our darkest desires
The ones who light our fires
In our hearts and minds they reside
Tired of being locked inside
A taste of freedom they desire
But the consequences may be dire
Fight them all we please
But one day they will get the best of us
One day they will get the freedom they so desire
And we'll be the ones putting out the fire
