Grand Scheme of Things (The Last Song)
You want to be sophisticated,
nice shoes and drinking your fancy beer,
but I don't see men in attendance,
it's just a room full of kids in here.
so you will smoke a cigarette,
while you talk about how you'll quit.
the day is coming, fast and quick,
but you're a liar and we all know it.
yeah we all know it.
this is the last song about you,
can't say that I feel that bad.
at this point in the program
I can see just what we had.
in the grand scheme of things, baby
well it's just not that bad.
Well, you have to be right, don't you?
could you talk louder above me?
It's almost funny like a joke now,
that I ever wanted you to love me.
You think that you're such an old soul,
cause you're not a fan of rock n roll.
you like the brass and all that jazz,
like you're original for that,
so original for that.
this is the last song about you,
can't say that I feel that bad.
at this point in the program
I can see just what we had.
in the grand scheme of things, baby
well it's just not that bad.
You said a girl like me should be
draped over an arm just like yours.
You paid my way into the party,
I paid you back behind closed doors.
You said you liked that I was pretty
never bothered to find out more.
and I'm not sorry you decided
that being with me was a chore.
this is the last song about you,
can't say that I feel that bad.
at this point in the program
I can see just what we had.
in the grand scheme of things, baby
