Empty and Unchanged
If you want me to describe
How being empty feels like
I'd say it's like being a carcass
And your muscles and bones
Become invisible.
Your whole being is nothing
But a vessel, an empty one.
Your life could walk past you
And you wouldn't,
Couldn't,
Reach out to it.
But the worst part
Is when you breathe.
When you exhale,
The only thing filling you up
leaves you, too.
How being empty feels like
I'd say it's like being a carcass
And your muscles and bones
Become invisible.
Your whole being is nothing
But a vessel, an empty one.
Your life could walk past you
And you wouldn't,
Couldn't,
Reach out to it.
But the worst part
Is when you breathe.
When you exhale,
The only thing filling you up
leaves you, too.
