Twilight in Solitude

Her wings unfurl under the stars
The moonlight…
In it’s luminance reveals her scars

A perfect creature, old world sent
From Heaven…?
Her time here is soon spent

A frozen queen, she is the last
Of her kind…
A tortured creature of the past

Maere, sits upon her throne
In a castle made of frost and bone
Singing, she reads from the tome
In solitude, she sits all alone

He sits beneath an ancient cypress
In summer’s chill…
So cold without, he cannot express

Without you, summer is hell
Missing her…
Just a void trapped inside a shell

Erl, the goblin king on his throne
In a castle made of flame and bone
Hunting, he is free to roam
In solitude, he sits all alone

In the time, when night meets day
Is special
For it is when they can lay

Together, in each other’s arms
Twilight breaks
And then they break the storm

But too soon the time has worn
They must part
And in solitude their hearts are torn
