Love Song To A Sea Man

Beautiful man,

   with the windswept hair,

   with the goofy smile,

what hides behind those hazel eyes?

      Pain?

      Heartache?

Too much loss that your heart breaks when

the words 'love' and 'loved ones'

              are tossed about?

Your grief is weighing you down like a

          rusted anchor,

sinking you into the deep depths of despair.

But you put on your happy face

and act like you don't have a care.

       You're a gentle spirit,

            kind and free.

You often turn to the sea for

                 reflection,

                 introspection,

and safety from the world, with

        its evil and cruelty.

Beautiful boy,

shy with your ways and soft words

                         that bring me joy,

let me take you in my arms

and keep you safe from harm,

      Soothe your grief,

caress you tenderly as you sleep.

      Hold you in my warmth

as I whisper loving

     words in your ear,

ease your fear

    that love has evaded

         and deserted you

when, in fact it has not.

Sea loving boy,

           grief stricken boy,

I LOVE YOU

Come share this old lighthouse's cot.

      Let me love you

Because you're all I got.
