Monsters.

someone: *knock, knock*
me: Who's there?
someone: *knock knock*
me: I asked who's there!
someone: *knock knock*
me: *gets up and opens the door*
someone: *dark figure stands before me*
me: W-who are you?
someone: Do you wish to see a monster?
me: *frozen in place*... Y-yeah...
someone: Turn around then.
me: *turns around and in front of me a mirror appears*... I-I don't see it...
someone: Look closer *pushes me closer to the mirror*
me: I still can't see.
someone: You can't see it?
me: No.
someone: It's you.
me: *shocked*... W-what do you mean?
someone: When did you stop checking for monsters inside your closet and under your bed?
me: When I grew up and started realizing how the world works.
someone: There's your answer.
me: What do you mean?
someone: You stopped checking for monsters once you realized the monster is inside of you.
me: ...
someone: Close your eyes.
me: *closes them*
someone: *with its ice cold hands, it layed me back in my bed and vanished*
me: *opens eyes*... I-It's gone...

There are monsters inside us all. Look in the mirror and you'll be able to see them. No one is perfect.

Joker: We stopped looking for monsters under the bed when we realized they were inside us.
