Do You Notice Me?
Every night I lay awake, Listening to raindrops striking glass
Every night I stay alert, Listening to creaking floorboards above
Every night I bleed myself dry, Wishing to float through the veil
Every night I see myself die, Wishing to climb above the blood and the hail
Screaming, Cutting, Pushing back and staying down
An average life filled with fire and strife
Hate comes so easily and forgiveness is unheard of
Behind closed doors, A broken home lays in pieces
Do you notice me, mom, how I dance with the devil
Do you notice me, dad, how I fight your every wish
Do you notice me, sister, how I make rage from nothing
Do you notice me, friend, how I struggle through this
He prays but is never heard
Screams but is never heard
Bleeds but is never seen
Cries but is never seen
Still they ask him; “Why do you sit with such an expression of indifference”
Hatred has consumed me, Through it I was completed
Through it I found a place where I belong
Regret has consumed me, Through it I was completed
Through it I found the rights among the wrongs
