A Free Bird
I am a free bird,
My wings you envy,
The sight of my flight
Gives you shivers.
My capability scares
You every minute.
The horror makes you rash.
You think you can clip my wings.
Sure you can, but what about my spirit.
My wings do not give me flight; it's my soul.
Try and cage my soul and you will fail.
But do not stop until you succeed.
My wings you did clip.
But look the envy did not go.
There are others like me
Who are constant reminders
Of my inner strength.
Those whose external wings
Are symbol of my inner wings.
You have caged me for a while.
But your purpose is weakened,
For I feel free still, freer for you envy me.
My wings you envy,
The sight of my flight
Gives you shivers.
My capability scares
You every minute.
The horror makes you rash.
You think you can clip my wings.
Sure you can, but what about my spirit.
My wings do not give me flight; it's my soul.
Try and cage my soul and you will fail.
But do not stop until you succeed.
My wings you did clip.
But look the envy did not go.
There are others like me
Who are constant reminders
Of my inner strength.
Those whose external wings
Are symbol of my inner wings.
You have caged me for a while.
But your purpose is weakened,
For I feel free still, freer for you envy me.
