Religious Politics
The two bane
In the world.
That man keeps
Clinging to
As if letting go
Will take us back
To the stone age.
In future
There will be
Neither religion
Nor politics.
Only a peaceful government
Governed by love
And compassion.
In the world.
That man keeps
Clinging to
As if letting go
Will take us back
To the stone age.
In future
There will be
Neither religion
Nor politics.
Only a peaceful government
Governed by love
And compassion.

This reminds me of those old zen poems and proverbs...it's simple and innocent and sincere. Though i hope to never be governed by the love of god.

I really do thank you for your sweet comment. But I just can't help wondering why anyone would hope never to be governed by the love of God.

Another interesting piece, Divine. I agree with Merda's insightful comment about it being reminiscent of an old proverb. I like the idea of there being no religion or politics, for, if you take religion out of the concept of the divine, it becomes much more palatable. I wouldn't want to be "governed" by God either, if we're considering the God of Christian religion~but the idea of a compassionate and loving divine presence within us, that guides us, as part of our own inner, moral code is appealing (I keep thinking of Lennon's "Imagine," here). A nice piece~thought-provoking, for sure.

Your comment here did take away my breath. I deeply appreciate it; especially as I am getting to find out that most of you White guys don't fancy Christianity so much. It is a wonderful revelation.
Thanks for the sincere comment.
