FACES
The fluid faces of these little ones
Like life itself
Never ceases to amaze me.
Like mirror, so plain
One can see their spirit from it.
Pure and uncontrolled are the smiles
From there
Even the frowns
Sincere and sudden
So plain, the joys and anger.
The pretence glaring enough.
Nothing to hide.
Here they gather to play
Around my veranda chattering happily
And I behold the crystal waters
Pure and clear
I see everything beneath
Were our faces like so
No face cap or sun glasses
Could cover the
Cringes on our brows
And the crinkles on the
Shady corners of our eyes.
Like life itself
Never ceases to amaze me.
Like mirror, so plain
One can see their spirit from it.
Pure and uncontrolled are the smiles
From there
Even the frowns
Sincere and sudden
So plain, the joys and anger.
The pretence glaring enough.
Nothing to hide.
Here they gather to play
Around my veranda chattering happily
And I behold the crystal waters
Pure and clear
I see everything beneath
Were our faces like so
No face cap or sun glasses
Could cover the
Cringes on our brows
And the crinkles on the
Shady corners of our eyes.
