Wasn't it just yesterday
that the trees were bare of leaves?
the yards were brown, grass not growing?
Wasn't it just yesterday
it was too cold to sit out and feed the squirrels?
we needed socks and shoes or winter boots?
Wasn't it just yesterday
you said you loved me?
and I believed you?
Wasn't it just yesterday
that we made plans, shared our dreams?
talked about where to live?
Wasn't it just yesterday
that you left me?
