If we hadn't have been arguing, you'd
still be alive. All we had to do was watch
you.

I loved you like my own daughter. I still
do. I treated you like my own. I never
wished anything bad for you. It's easy
to forget how easily porcelain dolls can
break. You were such a little trooper. I
kept forgetting. You acted like you were
cement, but your tiny body was only
porcelain. So delicate.

I would give anything to have you back.
I still remember your beautiful blonde
curls shimmering in the sunshine. Your smile
just as bright. You were happy and now you
lay in a cold, dark place. Away from all you loved.

Your daddy was so proud of his little girl. We both
were. He still has your ballet shoes. I've heard him
crying over them, begging for you. I only know
because I join him. Our lives aren't the same without
your bright, giggles, your beautiful smile. And now
we're worlds apart.

Your daddy and I blame ourselves every day. If only
we hadn't have been arguing. Not a day goes by that
I don't think of you. I would sacrifice everything just
to hear your giggles once more.

The guilt of what happened has weighed me down.
Reverberating against my bones. Crushing me until
there's nothing left but my bones turned to dust and
my forsaken soul.
