are you coaxing  all the band to play it softly
yet silent a sputtering thump so thy heart can hear,
these tears of the lost though forlorn may these
images of a distanced lover’s melodious croon
by chance bring even a second of calming so soft,
a warmth  against the shimmering  light of the moon…
