Dancer
A graceful dancer caught my heart,
Just as I began to fold.
So gently she did lay me down.
So faintly did I hear a sound.
December swept across the sky.
The dancer kept a vigil, candle light.
I thought I must be in a dream,
To believe I had this beauty queen.
But she fell sad and I didn't recognize:
Her voice grew quiet with pain in her eyes.
Her vigil still burning
into the month of may,
My dancer finally slipped away.
Into the woods of life
Or the city night,
She did not ever really say.
A graceful dancer beckoned me
But I did not feel as it would seem.
Happy then , now worried so,
So sad my dancer had to go.
