BLACK INNOCENCE
Close your eyes to the lines
Spun here on this page
So you can see through
The heart dancing here
One badly battered by fate
But retains its verdure.
Pierced, shot and drowned
In the murky waters
Of world politics.
But emerging again fresh
With a crown.
The black heart
Thumping to the fresh beat
of freedom
And pumping barrels of black
blood
Through green veins
To nourish the entire globe.
This dogged heart of mine
Has become friends with pain
And has kissed death
Many times in the face.
I know no fear again
But I am bleeding with pity
For the rest of the world
That have gone mad
In a bloody dance
Dictated by nuclear drums.
