Mainstays of the Love Scene

Xerox Cléopatre
We stuttered even in our thoughts
With adaptive self esteem fluctuating
You said;
"I love to watch the piglets play!"
And now I understand why

Babyfaced naively fits so perfectly
In the palm of your hand
Till pulled away
The hand that feeds
That wild eyed ambition
Fresh from the pond
But a rather large insect of the muck
Rather than a fish waltzing with weeds in the bottom depths

Admittedly, we were wrong
Thinking we could fly with trade winds over Capricorn
While our developing breaths pushed
For selfish desire
Betraying to blow out candles
For imaginary gifts

This is why I cringe when you appear
And this if foolish to express
To think you've noticed
This is the number you've done on me
And this is what it's like to hide
Lust in the landfill of my mind
Tucked away from the sight of current mainstays
On the love scene

You're a tasty morsel of wishful thinking
Mmmmmmmm, you must be from the dark ages baby
Because you hit me, leave me writhing
Like Black Death
