Tobe Hooper's Texas Chainsaw Massacre Still Scares The Hell Out Of Me
I had Seen Tobe Hooper's Texas
Chainsaw Massacre (1974) for the
first time when I was about nine
years old in 1983. Needless to say, it
scared The Hell out of me. It
still scares the hell out of me.
I guess what scares me is It is
somewhat based on a true story
or stories. The movie is some
what based on Ed Gien from
Plainfield Wisconsin and the
Wild Bill killer from New York
State. While most of the events
of the movie are put in for shock
value The movie is still scary as
hell to me.

I've always been a horror movie fan. But my cousin Theresa had absolutely no sense of what was appropriate for a 9 tear old until she had her own children. Why she had seen fit to show a nine year old (namely me) the likes of Friday the 13 in 1980 dawn of the dead in 1978 and Texas chainsaw massacre in 1983 I'll never know She shows me such things since I was four years old, but has a hissy fit when I show her first born son creep show when he was like twelve years old. I guess becoming a mom made her reconsider following the movie rating system. Most of the movies I mentioned are rated R. Which I come to understand is age appropriate for 16 and older. Then there is NC-17.
