Short and Simple
Our polity here is stuffy
Choking. Very, very unclear.
Oh heavens, you must forgive
Our grammarian politicians
Who confuse simple issues
In high sounding vocabularies.
Someone tell them
Even the English Parliament
Does not make use
Of heavy grammar.
And at the White House
It is abhorred
They do not speak it.
Our land must not become
A refuse dump
For rejected words
And our expressions
Have to be kept
Short and simple.
