Fighting the Inevitable

The shadows surround me
I am consumed with the darkness
It fills my lungs
Every breath I breathe
I am still gasping for air
No time to be scared
My body is getting cold
I am draining of life
The light is blurring
My heart slows down
I start to fade away
What was once so bright
Quickly turns to black
My soul cries out in agony
I am thrashing around
My mind lingers
Refusing to let go
I can feel the end coming
So why am I still fighting
The Inevitable?
