In Your Eyes
In your eyes, I found hope
In your eyes, I found peace
In your eyes, I found beauty
In your eyes, I found life
In a time when death is the goal and life is forsaken
In a time when breath is hated and taken for granted
In a time when pulses pump against the will of the broken
In a time when hope is lost, I have found my reason to be
You took me from the remnants of a broken home
You took me from the ashes of self-torture
You took me from the rubble of a once-grand castle
You took a servant and gave him a crown
If I could find the words to thank you, I would
If I could find the way to thank you, I would
If I could hand you the passion you created, I would
If I could hand you a portion of your creation, I would
In your eyes, I found peace
