Shadow Man
I don't feel safe tonight,
Knowing that you are out there
Hiding in every patch of timid darkness.
There are some attics and basements
I'd rather not explore,
Corners and roads Id rather not go down,
Not be caught dead by.
I could feel you following me tonight,
Waiting to pull my hair, grab me from behind.
I know what your hands want.
I know what you want.
I could feel them reaching towards me with every
Step I took tonight, out there in the unseen darkness.
I pretend not to notice, but I could feel you
In every anxious stride that I took tonight.
They say you aren't real and the mind plays tricks,
But I saw you move from the corners of my eyes,
Felt your breath upon my chilled neck,
Heard your laughter echoing in my ears.
You want to swallow me whole,
Shadow Man.
You want to swallow me whole,
Shadow Man.
