I'd punch a whale
Don't lose hope,
you could
invent a time
travelling, parallel
universe jumping
device; continue to perfect
it by going back in time
and feeding a younger version
of yourself the new information;
So then
once perfected,
you could then
go to a time frame
where an immortal serum
or some cyborg implants are possible
and become
an immortal universe
jumping clock god.
Wouldn't that
be better then
rotting in some
hole or hell?

This sort of reminds me of Doctor Who lol.
I love the idea, I think we all want to escape back into the past and correct some things we did, but that reality isn't real, and what this poem is doing is merely suggesting the idea, rather than imposing a solution.

Thats true, modern science suggests that backwards time travel is not possible because if it was, someone would have come back in time to help us out.
But I guess the main idea of the poem is though, if you lose hope then there is no possibility for time travel because maybe, I dunno, a person who would have committed suicide was the main mind behind the technology or something. It's just like, the possibilities in store for everyone are limitless, and losing hope limits you.
