Daddy's Ashes
The sky was bright and clear that day
your favorite color blue lit up the sky
waves crashed and gently tumbled
the day we came to say goodbye
We were quite the crowd I'd say
assembled together in love
all who gathered to honor you
knew you watched us from above
We walked barefoot into the ocean
all your children who love you so
held the box that held your ashes
scattered them and watched them go
This was your final wish
and as we watched you wash away
we cried and hugged and bowed our heads
Daddy, in our hearts you'll always stay
your favorite color blue lit up the sky
waves crashed and gently tumbled
the day we came to say goodbye
We were quite the crowd I'd say
assembled together in love
all who gathered to honor you
knew you watched us from above
We walked barefoot into the ocean
all your children who love you so
held the box that held your ashes
scattered them and watched them go
This was your final wish
and as we watched you wash away
we cried and hugged and bowed our heads
Daddy, in our hearts you'll always stay
