funeral
There was a body at church today,
For the soul had left to heavens way,
There was a casket in which it lay,
And sitting down we began to pray.
Pray for those who came from play,
To be with a family on their grievous day.
The memorial started with a prayer they say,
And then they started to sing away.
They sang of love and joy that day,
But the people there began to sway.
Then tears started falling away,
For grieving was there that day.
Letters prewritten were read they say,
Of good times they had before they'd lay.
They sang of the golden way,
Of where the soul should stay.
Then again they once more pray,
And opened the casket , the body to display.
They filed out row by row that day,
Some to see, some to cower away.
The family stayed and shut away,
The body that had begun to decay.
The body was buried they say,
In a park on the sunny side way.
When the family returned their stay,
Many respects did everyone pay,
Before the left each their own way,
To go on living, untill twas their day.
