Box

In this case I would have to say what box?  What is its significance?  Why is it staying empty for now?  What could have gone into it if things were different?  Was there ever anything inside it before?  What kind of box is it?  Maybe it meant something for you to write this piece.  But it really doesn't mean anything to a reader, at least not to me in this case, if that's all there is, and no information filling in where the substance could be.
 
Again, I am not saying it's bad specifically.  There could definitely be a time and a place in any given reader's life, a moment when this very mysterious empty box could mean something, or have an effect.  Maybe you're writing about a box that you'll use in moving someday, but you're staying put for now, so the box is empty for now, or something like that.  In that case I'd say...ok.
