At Bay
She squirms under the pressure
She's been left alone again
With feelings of unjust
She closes herself up in her room
With a drawer filled with blades
She blames herself for not being
Strong enough to fight the tears
For trying to escape her troubles
With remorse and guilt and lies
For not being able to push the blade
Deeper into her skin
And ending it once and for all
As the disgust catches up to her
She falls under as it's prey
She knows that there are people
Who will try so hard to stop her
It makes her guilty feelings soar
As she hides the pain inside
The agony underneath another smile
So fake, but enough to keep
Her demons away at bay
She's been left alone again
With feelings of unjust
She closes herself up in her room
With a drawer filled with blades
She blames herself for not being
Strong enough to fight the tears
For trying to escape her troubles
With remorse and guilt and lies
For not being able to push the blade
Deeper into her skin
And ending it once and for all
As the disgust catches up to her
She falls under as it's prey
She knows that there are people
Who will try so hard to stop her
It makes her guilty feelings soar
As she hides the pain inside
The agony underneath another smile
So fake, but enough to keep
Her demons away at bay
