Catlike
I get myself caught up, lazy and spoiled in your love and physical affection.
Think of me as a cat; basking in your sun, yawning, stretching length-wise,
belly exposed…basking in your all-consuming warmth. And with it, I needn’t move.
No temptation could pry me from your shining rays.
But see, I forgot. It wasn’t me who made the sun;
it was just I who languished in it, as if it were my own.
You don’t belong to me.
You belong to the moon and the stars and the big wide sky.
And I am just a lonely cat, who happened to be walking by.
