Titi The Turtle

There was once in a far far away place,
A turtle that chose solitude instead of company.
His family was gone - taken by the hand of fate,
He liked to look far in the distance - and laughed like someone said something funny...
It has been forty five years now,
Turtle wasnt getting used to being a loner,
He didnt want any friends,
He didnt want help.

Turtle somehow the universe had shut him out,
He heard voices far away - as they gave way to a loud shout,
And it felt like it was the universe ridiculing him,
Poor Turtle couldnt befriend peace -
He pushed away anyone and everyone,
Though the feeling was erecting in him -
The feeling that told him to blend in,
He shook it away,
And instead of tears, he wept rain,
Titi the Turtle missed his family,
His wife and his daughter Emily,
His heart bled
His blood fled -
As i beheld him i became sad...

One night as he was deep in sleep,
The gods spoke to him in a dream.
''For how long do you want to grieve?''
They gently asked him.
''Your family remains happy where it is,
Seek peace - seek peace''
They told him as they stood up to leave,
''Find friends and be happy,
your family wants you to be happy,
yet every day they see you weep,
Oh child find friends and seek peace''
After those words Titi the Turtle jumped out of his sleep,
'Oh it was only a dream'
That he said to assure his heartbeat...
''No - find friends and seek peace''
said the gods as they disappeared into the unseen...

Turtle then rose up to lead a happy life,
Life with friends - life of smiles...
