the smile~

i'm out there
searching for my smile
i know
it's gonna take a while
to clear the way..

make way, for the smile
all you funny faces
you frowns, and various scrunches
it's time to move on
to the smile..

every now and then
i catch a fleeting glimpse
cop a passing feel
of the smile
i wear it for a moment
and the world melts into joy
til i cannot bear it
and fall back into scrunch..

and in the land of scrunch
i wander far and near
searching for that smile again
it cannot have disappeared..

i dropped it
somewhere back along the road
now I can only wait
for it to catch up

time passes
air moves around me
pockets drawn within
then emptied with care..

then the sun rays hit
deep into my lungs
i draw upon their light
and feel the warmth expand

solar waves break upon crinkled expressions
smoothing out the creases
we're left with unexplainable delight
the smile has returned..

the world brightens with its rediscovery
the magic tickles once more
beaming astral splendour..

unbiased and free of license
the smile floats on
more snuggly than any mask
how can i get one, you ask..

well
it's very easy
first
you set out on your journey
then
you stop for nothing less
than the path most golden

you must pass by
many offers
and an abundance
of distractions
and always remember
a real smile
cannot be conjured..

you'll know when you find it
because nothing else will matter
the smile is just a form
for unconditional love..

and this becomes clear
when you stare out into the world
and feel it smiling back at you..

so smile with the world
smile as the world would
keep your bearings
stay on that wave
floating into the sun..

become the suns smile
journey to far off galaxies
to smile upon other worlds..

after a while
you will see
your smile
is made of
the universes laughter..

after a while
you may become that laughter
and learn that language
and become one of those beings
whos laughs create universes
and smiles power the stars..
