Golden Goddess (Spoken Word)

Golden Goddess (Quick Write)

He drew the blade across throat and neck as she slowly wept
Newly splayed, he left the bloody body with no respect
And no remorse, didn't even bend to hold the corpse
A new man living to the image of cold reports

He stared into empty, sunken eyes, drained of soul
All the body parts together still couldn't paint a whole
Heart stained to coal black, but it was for his perfect queen
Had to work between shadows to steal her smirks and gleams
Stared into his mirror reflection a moment longer
Hoped for stronger, a chance to mend his broken ardor

They said she changed him on a deranged whim, foreigner
But contact stayed slim until one met the coroner
His fresh lover had evil intent to leave breath smothered
Around his beauty, only jealousy and death hovered
What she prayed to see was a sibling slain in deed
With no regard to his response, it was plain to see
He listened, to carefully note the details
Looked his mistress in the eye and then smote the female
She madly cursed, her lips together sadly pursed
Never considered it, but he always put family first
