false flag

those big black oval eyes embedded in grey skin
could peer into my complacency at this moment
and unless he-she-both-neither buys the next round
it means nothing

I know that this pain is an illusion
and it staggers me towards something that "real" explains
when I see another segment of the hallucination
picked out, placed on a shelf
and admired

I no longer believe in belief
and that aesthetic would scare me
if the colors didn't speak reassurance
if the composition broke-down into the death of design

but it doesn't
not from here

here where I own my illusion
