You make it so easy to make it look so hard,
I see through this glamour to a childish lie,
And it kills me to know that I let down my guard,
Yet over this past regret I do not cry.

No, for my tear glands have grown too numb,
My soul is too broken to care,
That I dared to let myself succumb,
To the dark pit and what awaits there.  

The smell of death lured me in,
Grasped a cold hand round my chest,
Twisted me to face his sins,
So forever I may rest.

Because you make it so easy to make it look so hard to want to live.
It's one of the things I envy the most,
The life I don't have the ability to give,
Now I forever shadow you, your very own ghost.
