Only Darkness Lies Within (Part 1)
Can you tell from the look in our eyes
We’ve given in to the evil and twisted
Can you tell from the emptiness in our hearts
We’ve lost what we once treasured
Will we ever take back the sunrise and sunset
Or does the light not touch our shadows
And the dark stays away from the burning ashes
The wolves join our helpless cries
While the sheep shuffle blindly by
The mice hide in the gutters we call home
While the traps wait for our courage to return
The wood has rotted beneath us
And the roof is caving in
The foundation crumbles, The earth shakes with our knees
And the sun is avoiding the windows, For only darkness lies within
We’ve given in to the evil and twisted
Can you tell from the emptiness in our hearts
We’ve lost what we once treasured
Will we ever take back the sunrise and sunset
Or does the light not touch our shadows
And the dark stays away from the burning ashes
The wolves join our helpless cries
While the sheep shuffle blindly by
The mice hide in the gutters we call home
While the traps wait for our courage to return
The wood has rotted beneath us
And the roof is caving in
The foundation crumbles, The earth shakes with our knees
And the sun is avoiding the windows, For only darkness lies within
