living in the moment

green hills with goats feeding out my window
standing in the shade of trees to avoid the heat
they're lucky if they only know
its time for them to eat

i can hear my neighbors fighting
for ten minutes before they just make love
they fought about their future wedding
over if they should or shouldn't release doves

in time my copper kettle whistled
afterwards i poured a glass of hot water
placed a tea bag in that slowly brued
as i read a story by my favorite author
