Fallen Angel
I’ve never believed in angels, but you’ve fallen into my life with a resounding thump, teaching me that angels are not only real, but that they are also capable of falling.
(you didn’t come from heaven; you’re too perfect for me and too wrong for there)
For a long time I just watched as you lay there in your tears, wings fading and melting into the rain that murmured it’s empty pity and hollow apologies.
(I love to stroke your wings and set you shivering, do you know that?)
I helped you up, washed off the blood (was it all yours?) and kissed your wounds better, setting you on your way with a smile and a gentle push.
Turns out your way was in a very similar direction to mine.
