POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Poet Introduction
Approach at your own peril. Speak truth to me i beg of you.
The Demon in My Head
There was a demon in my head
Who danced at night and slept in my bed
When it got bored of having it's way,
It prayed for light, and it let it stay
When the light began to grow
It pretended not to know
When the ignored morphed to joy
It plotted a treacherous ploy
When the joy transformed to love
It pulled on an iron glove
When the glove melted with light
It feared such mysterious might
When the light an angel unveiled
It panicked, all its plan revealed
When the Angel taller grew
It packed up its bag at night and flew
Now and...

Gratitude
From a tumultuous point of view in
what resembled a logical thinking
mind frame, thinking, that if humans
have limits then my thoughts have
gauged it fairly and deemed it low,
low and disappointing, not worthy of
any form of admiration
I slowly began to loose hope in the
good that resides in human beings;
What do they live for?
But then, as stars light up the dark
night sky, it's rays piercing through
the blackness;
Consider that I, was drenched in abject
darkness, silently hoping that

Wander
never roam with crowds;
go your own way
yes your path may lead to hell
which is a grave sadness;
a dire misfortune
but heaven's gate was never found
by those who roam with crowds
go your own way
yes your path may lead to hell
which is a grave sadness;
a dire misfortune
but heaven's gate was never found

The Immortals
My head hurts, my eyes struggle to open
My heartbeat gradually fails
I sit and watch my hands transform
my thoughts to written words
How quietly I deny some honest words
space in my head
How desperately I cling to life
scared I might draw my last breath
Such is the state of man;
When sickness brings him to the brink of death
he remembers how lucky he is to have lived
But when he is strong and healthy
He thinks himself immortal
My heartbeat gradually fails
I sit and watch my hands transform
my thoughts to written words
How quietly I deny some honest words
space in my head
How desperately I cling to life
scared I might draw my last breath
Such is the state of man;
When sickness brings him to the brink of death
he remembers how lucky he is to have lived
But when he is strong and healthy
He thinks himself immortal

I cannot save you
You are like a butterfly
with beautiful multi-colored wings,
Large and rare
Perching with thin needle-legs
on the palm of my hand
How fiercely I fight off the urge
to squeeze every ounce of your glorious beauty
with my hands
That perhaps it will caress my skin
as it does my sight
But I know how fragile your body is
I know more;
your beauty comes with a price;
Sadness
My dear, if only my being was gentler
And yours tougher
I would hug you tight,
and tighter
Till that despicable...

Scarecrow
do not fear the mean masked scarecrow
he only stands to scare the coward
but the brave he beckons forth
without a fight, without a sigh!
and while you stay aloof, terrified
I will walk pass the scarecrow too

but the brave he beckons forth
without a fight, without a sigh!
and while you stay aloof, terrified

Battle
In the calmness of the water
rested a raging thunder
subdued by calmness;
fast asleep
and once awakened by furious fire
did sizzling vaporous battle
It is with fury the daring fire moved
ever so swiftly, ever so boldly
seeking to envelope the calm water
precisely because
its calmness seemed averse,
weak, submissive
now walking the body-filled battlefield
only see signs of steaming water
gently waking and bonding anew

What has faded is already lost
And what is lost cannot be found
Into aloneness once more
Old ties cut off
Wandering seamlessly
Into vast consciousness
Fearless
Sadder yet stronger
Than ever before
Hurt and cut,
No bruises, just deep wounds
Damaging my nerves;
The pain keeps me company
My footprints fade in the sand
And I stare, unblinking, from behind a sandstorm
Watching, hoping signs from my trail
Will remain.
I wonder once more,
As the cold wind stings my face,
If...

Nature of Everything
No two fingers are equal
No two moments bear the same weight
Though life and death touch the soul
One sows, the other reaps
No two twins are the same
No two things are at one point the same
It is not possible for existence to form
Without occupying a unique time and space
Everything earthly rises from the earth
And Nothing heavenly from heaven will fall
For all things are set on paths
To be followed for the infinite length of eternity
Unless the power that binds it
Unbinds it with lesser or equal power
And if a thing...

Breathe From Hell
A black thought,
much like the wailing of
a tormented soul
from the depths of hell,
which brings with it
a tragic air of sad emotions;
a feeling of disappointment,
of confoundment
that abundant grace was wasted,
reduced from lofty heights to mere
Nothing
much like the wailing of
a tormented soul
from the depths of hell,
which brings with it
a tragic air of sad emotions;
a feeling of disappointment,
of confoundment
that abundant grace was wasted,
reduced from lofty heights to mere

Beyond Control
emotions racing, overpouring in my chest
uncontrollable laughing, untamed smiling
unleashed from their passive state-
those dark days of indifference
a disorder is apparent in the psychology of my mind
a memory awoken, a thought forgotten
a breaking, an uncaging
may be the cause of this overflow
when i hold i can't stop holding
when i grasp i can't stop grasping
an obsession is settling at the seems of my conscience;
an incurable urge keeps growing like cancer from within

Eavesdropping
A bucket of gibberish spluttered
through electric wire.
Unfelt feelings attached to words
once swallowed through the eyes
or assimilated via hearing, and now
regurgitated by the slick-salivating tongue
through the mouth of the speaker.
The listener absorbs these sound
frequencies, then reacts mechanically
to calculate the angles, sighs, and tone
to use in sugar-coating a lie that fits
the description of a proper answer
to feed the fantasies of the speaker.
This soul-draining process carries on
repeating itself for...
