Same ol Same ol
In a world where two people get down on their knees
Both in the business of selling themself
Both hoping to be blessed for the work they put in
One called a preacher
The other a whore
But only one is seen as a sinner
And one gets paid to say what anyone can read
I been around both so I'll speak for me
Ten percent seems high just to sit and listen for sixty minutes twice a week about a make believe world that nobody will ever be able to say it even exist for sure
I'd rather pay alittle more and get straight to point with the working girl
Sweaty...

Turns out I been lied to for a long time
Life does not just work itself out
Things eventually falling into place
Is shit people say when they dont believe enough to put it in Gods hands
And those who put it on the lords plate
Are those who cant carry the weight
How fast the fun fades with age
But I know I heard right
I remember what I was told
And the only truth I seem to find
Is it does warm up after being cold

Ring Of Fire
RING OF FIRE
Im giving up
Throwing in the towel while waving a white flag
Admitting defeat
I'll step to the side
I'm beat
Wait for my spot at the end of the line
Finish where I think I started
Last place
No need to wait
Go ahead
Finish the race
Hand the trophies out
Keep my constellation prize
I'm fading and doubt I'll make it before roads reopen
No joke this time
This time time ain't on my side
At the end of my rope
So why keep hanging around
Skip tying a noose and chocking myself out ...

Always To Soon
Nickel plated chrome piece tucked in his waistband
Anger flowing through his veins
Fuck a bandana
He wants them to see his face
Taking back what's his
By any means necessary he'll get ahead
Pissed at a system he thinks holds him down
He sits and waits till six a.m.
In the car and on the road by seven
Follows the owner in at eight
Nine minutes later he pulls chrome plated nine
In less then ten minutes my mothers son lost his life
He's full of heartache
Wiping tears caused by how useless he feels
Tries to be strong but...

Patience
No sun out makes the cold even colder
No heat keeps this studio freezing
Four of us in a double bed
Pops coming home drunk at 3 am
Throwing water to wake up momma
So my baby brother pissed his self again
Sheets still stink from the night before
Bacon covers the smell of newports
But we know better then to look
Lay hungry with eyes closed tight
Remember being so confused
I love him cause he's my father
But I hate my dad
Wishing my mom would've married a better man
Wondering why God won't help us out
Time kept...

Defeat Before Being Defeated
They got us held down
Like paper plates on a windy day
Out here killing our self
For a paycheck that's alrighty spent
We ain't like them
We can sprint till our death
And never come in eye sight of seeing ourself get ahead
Wear us down till our mindset leaves us mindless
Play with our emotions till we flip on who's closest
Leave a once loving couple full of hate and rage
Normal kids turn into those Mendoz boys
While the smoke rolls out our heads due to the fire they lit
Stomping around like king Kong
Pissed off but not sure what...

Hank played softly
As he quietly faded
Cold rag laid on his forehead
Unable to speak
I just hope he heard what I said
Forty feeling like a kid
Selfishly asking
Why is this happening to me

It was like he rounded third
Needing ninety more steps
But somewhere around fifty five
We blinked our eyes and he disappeared
Never making it back home
Leaving his family without an answer
Assuming the worst but believing their gut
Another player who couldn't handle the big leagues
Another wife left alone to defend for two on her own
Another child left fatherless
Another same ol same ol
One room
One check
One tired mom
One embarrassed kid
One pair of used all white nikes
One dollar short
One week late ...

Finish Line
I'm sorry
But I couldn't go on
Know this is unexpected
Even surprised myself
Thought I had a few more years left
I know it's hard and saying sorry won't really help
Besides I'm not going to lie
I didn't quit on life
My finish line just wasn't as far
Endings and beginnings
No two are the same
It's not selfish on my part
It's my life to call
Don't be angry at me and I promise everything will be ok
I admire how you live
You have my full respect
Stayed away from the trap
But always there with...

Forced fed information
Why you think the path is so damn narrow
It's follow the leader
His lack of patience
Limits your choices to one direction
World wasn't made for us
Created for a mans ego
Rules made to confine minds
He never wanted people and freedom
Just robots with bendable knees willing to worship
Free thinkers get labeled sinners
