POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Intertwined
Behind a locked door
There's a spiritual place
We've begun to explore
And come to embrace
Through Irises of green and brown
To the center it passes
But beyond the rods and cones
And under this skin to my core
To my very bones, I ache for more
Now black and gray come out to play
We're so connected and led astray
From a world of beliefs that's
Devoid of grace
I'm the closest I've been
To seeing God's face
Trembles then prideful tears
Replace what was once worry
And innocent fears
The time has come

I sit here waiting
As I listen to the "tick..." "tick..." "tock..."
Of the ever steady clock
One more thing to ponder
Pensive feelings, staring at ceilings
Cold and Somber
Confused and Confounded
Dazed and surrounded
By feelings and regret
I'm tongue tied, upset
Wishing to line my feelings up
Along this shelf
And walk away
Instead, somehow, I pray
To this voiceless, forsaken god
That I do not even know
Who lets his "children"
Rot in this world below
I wish again to...

One more thing to ponder
