POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Poet Introduction
k so im not that good at this whole poetry thing, buts my only healthy form of escape from the hell im living in
Strings
He carved me out of nothing.
He painted my emotions.
He personalized my voice box so that I said what he wanted and nothing more.
He dressed me in the clothes that he wanted to see.
He used his lies to make ropes,
Which he tied to each of my limbs.
He used the ropes to control my every move.
I was his puppet
And he was my puppet master.
I got too comfortable with him controlling me
And before I knew it
He cut my strings.

I just want to be like them.
They walk the halls with such confidence
And such pride.
They all seem to have such luscious hair that falls so perfectly in place.
My hair always seems nice when I leave the house, but whenever I get the chance to glance into a mirror I regret ever getting out of bed.
They all own the wardrobe of a celebrity, one that I could never afford.
The makeup that they all plaster their faces with looks like artwork that’s been hung up at a gallery.
When I put on makeup I look like a clown on Halloween night.
All the boys at school...

I started out as a sad, lonely piece of wood.
No one wanted me, and for as long as I can remember I didnt want anyone either.
But then one day out of nowhere,
I met him.
He walked up to me like I wasn’t just some piece of wood.
He talked to me like I was something more, like I wasn’t just a plank.
Of course, I didn’t believe what he had to say,
But he assured me that what he had to say was the truth.
After a while of him saying all of things I had wished to hear I finally let him in.
He said we would stand side by side no matter what...

Lights.
I have always been a fan of pretty lights.
The ones with the brightest shine had always been favoured by the other girls,
But not me.
I find comfort in the lights that are dim,
The lights with a beautiful flicker that light up dark little ally ways.
I have seen many beautiful lights,
But none had caught my eye like this one streetlight had.
It stood almost alone on a path of darkness,
it had a flicker like one I had never seen and would constantly go back and forth between on and off.
I was drawn to the light like a moth would be,
I just...
