You break my heart some days
The tears in your eyes
Make me want to
Take the pain
You shoulder your burdens
You take a lot of the blame
behind a mask
You don't let anyone
See you break
You let me in only so far
But I'm willing to wait
I made some mistakes
Given you reason to hesitate
Someday I hope to see that erased
I've seen you grow and change
I see you looking inside
For the balance
You have longed to find
Your determination
In all you do
Your willingness to listen

I don't think you understand
What it is about you
That I just want to have
I don't think you understand
the hold you have
The sound of your voice,
I love to hear
From the low sleepy " good morning"
To the cranky " hold please"
I listen to your every word
Watching the lips I love to taste
Expound upon your day
The smile you save just for me
I would know anywhere
The feel of your lips
On mine
Is always on my mind
From the softest of hello's
To the spine tingling " I need you now"...
What it is about you
That I just want to have
I don't think you understand
the hold you have
The sound of your voice,
I love to hear
From the low sleepy " good morning"

How do you do it?
How do you not see
The effect you have on me?
You tell me I'm what you want,
What you need
Then you say things
Just to watch me bleed
You always seem
to find the time
To fuck with
My mind
I'm not good enough
You've made that clear
My emotions aren't a game
You don't get to tell
Me to stay
As you make plans to
Walk away
Tell me what it is
That I do
That's makes it so easy for you?

Earn money sleeping
Ambulance driver
Taxi driver
Free medical advice
I've been called it all
For some the numbers 911
Don't mean a thing
Your arm itches?
Try some anti itch cream
No I don't think your headache
Merits a call to 911
Chest pain for 3 weeks?
Have you tried some tums?
Please be sure to have
Your loved ones
On the top floor
With steep stairs
And tight turns
Of course you can't walk
But please let me get out the door
Before you run up the srairs

The double standards
Are killing me

Whomever I please
But that's not true

wrapped up in you
the past couple weeks
I could have done without
but the sight of you
undressing in the candlelight
made me forget
all that was said
you have me wrapped
around you
on you
and in you
all this time together
you still make nervous
the knot in my stomach
still tightens
when you give me that smile
when you beckon me
to follow
the look on your face
that said
you needed me
not just wanted me
I have missed
falling asleep with the
feel of you against me
the small sigh of content
as I slide...
I could have done without
but the sight of you

After everything was said
I had nothing left
You act as though
Nothing went wrong
You called me to say
You didn't want me

I said I wouldn't go back
