Rain
dear rain won't you please go away
oh no you say I'd rather stay
I love you but don't like it when you're icy and cold
I'm sorry girl I can't put my emotions on hold
I like the sunshine don't make me feel blue
but it's so much fun it's what I do
I like to rain on your parade
and make it seem like one big charade
I like to pour rain over your heart and emotions
until you feel like you're drowning in oceans
so cry your tears and don't hope for tomorrow
my purpose in life is to bring your sorrow
I'm here just to bring you...

quit dreaming
get up shake up move up
show ambition
make something of yourself
don't be a slacker
or you'll never amount to anything
where is the fire in your belly
start a family
have a career
make lots of money
compete defeat
retire and retreat
so you can start

Possessions
Thoreau was right... so
let me make a few confessions
I yearn not to have a lot of possessions
the clothes that I like and my favorite book
picture albums and some utensils to cook
I like the idea of living on less
too many things can make such a mess
because how many things do people really need
in order to be happy and have enough to eat
robbing the earth of treasures galore
for what -- most people just want
more more more
when will it ever be enough ...

why don't you look like us
act like us and speak like us
why must you be so different
and always have your own ideas
why can't you be a team player
and get in line like everyone else
we don't get you and your art
don't know what you're talking about
you say such random and strange things
your ideas are unlike our own
your bisexuality we don't understand
your spiritual beliefs don't make sense to us
we're uncomfortable with everything about you
because it threatens us
you're such a
freak
act like us and speak like us

Alice in Wonderland
down the rabbit hole she goes
up is down and down is up
perception slides unreality fogs
new vision shining surreal
dawn breaking new dimensions
past and future weaving healing
unanswered questions attain more clarity
while looking through fog obscuring everyday vision
mysterious pathway between two planes colliding
alternate reality getting more comfortable
as days go by and wonderland becomes
home
up is down and down is up

The Sanctuary
the sanctuary a very
strong need an absolute must
for those of us who are delicate
fragile and ethereal those of us
for whom it it so hard
to maintain ourselves on this
planet once called
by someone one big giant brothel
we need a sanctuary
the ones nowadays called
highly sensitive persons
the ideal is a cozy dwelling
a garden with sunshine
and organic delights
friendly animals running free
all of natures beauty
along with sunshine and crafts
and other kindred spirits
who tread upon...

so surreal and virtual
oblique and parallel
yet nonetheless real
wondrous splendor

who can communicate with you telepathically
