You and I

This is an ode to you,
el boligrafo.
To anyone else, you are just a grey pen,
but to me, you are a midnight black stylus,
ready ad manum,
an outlet to my thoughts.
But for some nights,
when I wish to let fly my ideas,
I am unable to do so.
But now, my friend,
we meet again.
For tonight,
it is just you and I,
sword and knight,
a crown for a king,
a minion to its master.
But most importantly,
a pen to a writer.

In the Midst      
In the midst
of a bustling school.

I’m being pushed or bumped into,
nobody noticing
nobody caring.

In the midst
of a warzone
filled with
gossip, of mean,
hurtful words.

In the midst,
I try to blend in
to the crowd,
I actually am,
but I feel like
I’m sticking out like a
sore thumb.

In the midst,
of a bustling school,
pushing, shoving,
gossiping.
