my friend the pillow
I go to sleep at night,
Clutching my pillow tight,
Wishing someone special was there instead,
It all seems to be silly dreams in my head,
Is it just a silly fantasy?
That one day I could be happy,
Filled once again with love’s fire,
Overflowing with words that she does inspire,
Am I just around to keep the fates amused,
Feeling so very confused,
Caught in a maelstrom so malicious and strong,
Wondering again where I belong,
Is it so hard that all I want is to be loved again,
Not sure my heart can deal with the strain,
Stretched to the...

trust rotted
Why is trust?
Treated like a piece of rust,
Something cut out and thrown away,
Left to rot til the end of its day,
Not needed anymore,
Just thrown on the sea shore,
Given to someone to hold,
Though it can’t be bought or sold,
It can be broken,
Or traded for a token,
Is it so hard to say no?
Or you don’t want to go,
Tired of hearing lies,
Hanging around like a bunch of flies,
So I guess they’ll give up any chance,
Of someone to join in them in the dance,
Left to their own,
To be the one that’s unknown,
No longer has it...

Hurting
All I see is darkness,
There is no light,
Just madness,
No delight,
Fractured soul,
Heart no longer whole,
Bleeding,
Gaping,
Hope leaking,
Love dying,
Coals growing cold,
No longer bold,
Choosing to stay hidden,
Loneliness unbidden,
Over the search,
Remain here on the perch,
Sit as it all passes by,
No more tears to cry,
Shadow left,
Happiness bereft,
Waiting for the end of my song,
To travel,
A new place to belong,
To watch them unravel,
Eternally free,
To roam for eternity,

Stop and look
To step back,
From the bustle of being on the track,
See all the beauty that surrounds,
Soak in all those hidden sounds,
The ones that if you stop and close your eyes,
Hear all that rustles,buzzes and flies,
To see that flower breaking through,
See its simple beauty anew,
Marvel at its simple grace,
Find that a smile has crept on your face,
How something simple can brighten your day,
Having a smile in whatever you say,
To start that seed and watch it grow,
How it spreads such a positive glow,
It can make you fly,

A piece of dust in the air,
A shadow no one pays attention to,
Never seen there,
Passing by not bothered to see the blue,
Not paying attention to what some people say,
Or giving them the time of day,
Shut out from the world,
As a special mind is unfurled,
Driven to insanity,
Over what is to be,
No longer sees a future,
Seeking a cure,
Nothing seems to work,
Looked upon as a worthless jerk,
Pity not given,
Lost all cause to be driven,
Walls becoming impenetrable,
Finding it difficult to enjoy being stable,
Hidden in plain...

Feeling so low,
Where happiness should glow,
Only the shadows creeping in,
Whisper to me to do the ultimate sin,
I try to chase them away,
Though failing to keep them at bay,
Sadness flows over me,
Like the waves on the sea,
Full of torment and pain,
Buckling under the strain,
Too much pressure weighing heavily,
Wanting to curl up in a ball so no one will see,
Feeling the walls closing in,
Maybe I should just let it win,
Fall back into my hole,

DJ'S Dream
Round and round,
The scratchy record making an irritating sound,
Stuck laying a funky beat,
Making you tap your feet,
Echoing off into space,
To a quite distant place,
Melodies and rhythm dance in the air,
Looking like quite the pair,
Drum and bass looking quite mellow,
Sitting together like a grumpy old fellow,
Synthesiser and the sampler running amok,
Dancing around like a demented duck,
Stereo is being obnoxious and loud,
As if he’s trying to warm up the crowd,
Headphones being the weirdo in the corner,
The type whose sanity is on...

hazy break up
How I wish I could cry,
And I know why,
Tears should be flowing like a river,
Yet my eyes won't deliver,
Feels like my heart,
Has broken apart,
Though because of this drugged haze,
All I do is sit here in a daze,
Keeping quite still,
Looking like a dill,
I know we had to part ways,
Part of me hopes and prays,
Wishing i could curl up into a ball,
Inside my private wall,
So bewildered I don't feel the pain,
Or crumbling under the strain,
My insides are screaming at me to grieve,
It feels like i'm a blocked sieve,

Christmas missing
So here’s to another Christmas without you,
Still feeling so alone and a little blue,
Let’s hope the next few years,
Doesn’t bring any more tears,
That brings joy chasing away our fears,
Here’s to hearing many more cheers,
More laughter to brighten our day,
Hopefully many more years here we will stay,
Still not the same as we all miss,
I know I yearn for someone to hug and kiss,
Each day the hurt does dull in pain,

So look to the memories for all the good times we had,

Summer day
Children chasing butterflies in the air,
Frolicking around without a care,
Clouds ambling along,
To the wind’s silent song,
Accompanied by the sea’s melody,
Waves crashing gently,
Washing onto the shore,
Such a lovely day who could ask for more,
Salty spray,
On a cool summers day,
Walking with you,
On a beach so white and sea so blue,

Is like trying to catch a dove,
Something so fleeting yet you try to catch,
Trying to find your match,
Looking for someone to share,
A special one that you know does care,

All I ever wanted is love,
Just to be with someone the rest of my life,
Not given the shove,
Or to give anyone strife,
