You don't notice the way she hides her face
long jeans, sweaters, do innocence replace
and she doesn't open up to you like she used to

Dulcet whispers slip through their fingertips
fleeting beauty never to last
this felicity is deceiving their hearts
still they search for destiny in the past
realizing too late what life has become

I wish i knew what they expect me to believe.
I keep following the signs they throw in front of me, but it's getting me nowhere,
I'm backsliding into someone i dont want to be.
I'm trying to see the love in their hatred and jealousy, but that's one thing I cannot see.
